The third edition of the International Dietetics and Nutrition Terminology (IDNT) Reference Manual, Pocket Guide and online manual contains important changes to the IDNT, including new nutrition diagnoses.
The Nutrition Care Process and Model is the framework for the critical thinking process used by dietetics professionals as they provide nutrition services to their clients/patients.
  • NCP is incorporated into the ADA online Nutrition Care Manual
  • NCP provides questions to be evaluated in the online Evidence Analysis Library
  • NCP provides the framework for organization of the online Evidence-Based Guidelines and Toolkits, and
  • NCP provides questions that need to be answered through research in the Dietetics Practice Based Research Network (DPBRN).

Algorithms of Guidelines

See the algorithms of the online ADA Evidence Based Nutrition Practice Guidelines to view specific recommendations within a guideline project for a specific disease or condition (i.e., Diabetes, Hypertension) that is grouped according to the steps of the Nutrition Care Process.
